Our Core Values

These are a reflection of what we value highly here at TBC.  We recognise that it is only as we are empowered by the Holy Spirit that we can live out these values.

Biblical Truth

We will teach, make decisions and live on the basis of the truth as revealed in the whole of Scripture.

Mission

We will be intentional in seeking to bring transformation to lost people and a fallen world.

Spiritual Development

We will promote personal growth towards maturity in Christ and a lifestyle of service.

Community

We will be a place where relationships are based on love, acceptance, honesty, accountability and forgiveness.

Corporate Worship

We together will worship and pray in creative and relevant ways

WAYS OUR VALUES ARE WORKED OUT

Baptism

Baptism shows a commitment to biblical truth and spiritual development.    It shows that a person is serious about following Jesus in a very real and tangible way.

Belonging

There are a number of ways the value of community is lived out.   One is by being in a small group.    We have a variety of groups that meet at different times and days that you can commit to.  It is in small groups that you can know and be known by others.

Another is by becoming a member of TBC.   Being a member at TBC indicates that you are committed to being part of this community.   It enables you to be part of key decisions (i.e. appointment of elders).   It means you want to be part of the vision that God has for us.   It also indicates a willingness to be accountable for your Christian life.

Other ways of belonging include developing accountable relationships and being a TBC prayer partner.

Giving and Serving

By giving and serving a person shows a commitment to all 5 values.  Giving financially enables the vision at TBC to be worked out in practical ways.  This can be done by Eftpos, direct credit, or through the offering by envelope or cash.   Details are available at the Help Desk.  Each Sunday there is opportunity to contribute to the Food Basket that goes to the Taupo Foodbank.

In serving we follow the example of Jesus, in expressing love in real and practical ways.  Our values reflect our belief that church is not about attending or being a spectator, but about love in action.  Serving can happen by helping in a variety of roles on a Sunday, being part of a ministry team during the week and by showing practical love to others.  A servant heart will always find ways to express itself.
