‘The Base’ is a children’s programme that is run during the sermon part of the main service.
The children will be notified when to go to their programme -usualy before the sermon. The programme consists of a short message, prayer and games. You are welcome to join us too if you’d like. All ages of children are welcome for this programme (including babies, preschoolers, kindy kids, children with special needs and school aged– children).
During the school holidays the children’s programme will not be running, instead please be encouraged to keep your children in the service, they are very welcome. There are some occasions that the children will stay in the main service, for example— baptisms, communion and testimonies. Parents will be notified about these.

Foundational idea:
Tuakana / teina
John 13:35 “This is how everyone will recognize that you are my disciples—when they see the love you have for each other.” The Message (MSG)
Tuakana/teina is a Māori concept that refers to the relationship between an older (tuakana) person and a younger (teina) person. Within teaching and learning contexts, this can take a variety of forms. Within the context of children’s ministry and the TBC children’s programme Tuakana/teina is intended to promote:
Inclusion - all children are valued and included
Value - The tamariki are our treasure,
Relationships - Friendly, positive, caring
Belonging
Love
Community
Family atmosphere - we look out for one another.
This is intended to be the way that we ‘are’.
Important Information For Caregivers
Each volunteer within our Children’s Ministry has undergone a Police Check in accordance with our safety management systems.
We operate appropriate sign-in, sign-out procedures.
Children are at all times supervised by an adult.
Children who are distressed, unwell or exhibiting disturbing behaviour will be returned to their caregiver by the senior leader in charge that Sunday.
Would you please notify leaders of any medical condition including allergies, behavioural or intellectual conditions, asthma etc. that your child may have?
Our children’s ministry is undergoing some change at present so there are a few things we are trialing out.
Please look out for an opportunity to feed back.

Light Party
The Light Party is a safe, fun alternative to Halloween for families that don't want to go knocking door-to-door. In years past we have hosted more of a 'carnival' or 'family-fair' type event. Themes have ranged from "Under the Sea" to "Dr. Seuss" to "The Circus".
In 2019, we refreshed the Light Party to be a "Family Movie Experience" - still with a parent's cafe and toddler's playzone! Grandparents and grandchildren, mothers and sons alike all enjoyed the evening and left looking forward to next year's event.
