Senior Pastor - Pete and Lynda Slaney
Senior Pastor - Pete and Lynda Slaney
Pete spent his childhood in Warkworth, moving to Auckland to study at Uni when he was 17. There he met Lynda, they married in 1991, acquired a mortgage (and a house) in 1992 and eventually welcomed Caleb, then Nathan and then Max (the beloved cat) into the family. Pete worked as a physics teacher at two state schools before becoming principal of first Immanuel Christian School in 2010 and then Manukau Christian School from 2008 to the end of 2022. Pete’s hobbies have included playing saxophone and guitar, renovating houses, studying theology, preaching, tramping, skiing and catching waves on his stand up paddle board. Pete is praying expectantly for ski fields to operate on Mt Ruapehu and (less confidently) for long-period ocean-swells to form on Lake Taupo.
