We have the facility.
You have the function.
Together, we can help you host an awesome event.
Check out what we have available below, or schedule an in-person visit with our Admin. team!
The quick rundown: Our facility can host 560 people simultaneously, if you really want to max it out! We have six unique spaces for-hire, from the spacious Whanau room right down to the Tauhara Lounge. Don't forget the auditorium - it's rated to hold 337 persons! We find it's best setup theatre-style with around 214 people, but hey, our chairs are a little wide and definitely a little bit comfy; you're welcome to bring your own hired seats and bump it up a bit.
We even have a covered carport for drop-offs and pick-ups without worrying about any precipitation. Plus, with a bicycle rack, you can encourage more people to leave the cars behind altogether most days!

AuditoriumRated for 337 persons, our auditorium is as versatile as it is spacious. It has hosted exam sessions, weddings that run from 10 to 283 people, and is ready to host your next conference or community fair!
Your event can expect the best of our sound system, lighting arrangements to suit and, yes, we have heaters that pump plentifully during the winter months plus ceiling fans for the summer ones. The back corner of our auditorium, closest to the cafe, is outfitted with fold-away doors to help increase the mobility of conferences and fairs from sessions to breaks. November 2018 has seen some exciting updates to our lighting, with the finishing touches on new LED dimmable house lights coming soon! Watch this space as it continues to grow in popularity with local groups seeking room to spread out in. |
Whanau RoomDozens of groups have utilised our Whanau room at TBC, and for good reason: it's close to everything! Whether you're looking at proximity to town centre or the nearness of the bathrooms & kitchen facilities, this room is great for meetings from 6 people (room to breathe!) up to 183!
The Whanau room comes equipped with a projector and a sound system to handle your event with a touch of BOSE class. A heatpump is also featured, when necessary. Future plans include linking it to the sound desk in the auditorium for overflow conference seating. |
Koru RoomUpstairs, the Koru lounge is our second-most booked room in the facility. From tiny-tots ballerinas to Zumba to Community Groups utilising the projector & sound system to host multiple-day trainings, we've got you covered. We keep it comfy up here, as well, with couches and side-chairs standard; more formal seating is available for use on enquiry.
Oh, and did we mention it has direct views of the Volcanoes on the southern end of the lake? It also has an off-room bathroom and direct stair access to Rifle Range Road, allowing you visibility & ease of access from the main thoroughfare. Most of the year, including in winter, you hardly need the heatpump for anything, but it is there just in case. |
Tauhara LoungeA smaller upstairs room for cozy sessions and less distractions, the Tauhara Lounge gets amazing sunshine for those early morning sessions that need to kick off with a real *umph!*. Complete with large LCD screen and Logitech sound system, you'll be able to train a dozen of your brightest & best without the worries of visual distractions from passer-by outside the door.
"Fairy lights" also come complimentary, but for those serious meetings, we can make them head for the second star to the right. Again, a heatpump is installed for when necessary, but between the morning sun and the full-sized windows, you can regulate the temperature pretty naturally in here. |
CrecheFor those rooms that need a touch of sunlight, a dash of privacy but aren't too formal, the creche may be the perfect location for your team. Our "cry room" on Sunday mornings is available for bookings the rest of the week for "home groups", trustee meetings or even your book club.
Simply setup, there is a tv and sound system available on advance request. Outfitted with a nearly full-wall pane of glass for viewing the auditorium during services, we guarantee you won't feel cramped in our affectionately nicknamed "fishbowl". A heatpump will be installed currently to upgrade this room's comfort-control. |
Cafe"The Well" as it is known to many, our cafe space funnily enough doesn't have a barista machine! You won't hear us calling out "moccachino for Stan" from the kitchen servery; instead, you'll find plenty of space to host comfortable meetings at morning or afternoon tea, or even suppers for those evening sessions.
A large screen LCD on swivel-mount is available; sound options can be discussed with our Admin. team. A heatpump donated in memory of one of our former loving members will see to the comfort of your group. Just a note, with our building utilised six days a week, chances are there will be someone walking past the open cafe area, so if you need a bit of privacy, best to check out one of our other spaces! |

Building featuresLighting: All lighting fixtures in our building have been updated as of November 2018, save for two fluorescents on our stage. Don't worry, they're coming out soon - we're just busy finalizing our next phased-update of our complete stage-lighting package and that'll happen shortly.
Almost every lighting fixture in our facility is now LED, so between an abundance of windows in almost every single meeting space and the new fixtures, you'll be utilising a facility that is doing it's part to be as energy-friendly as is practical. Audio/Visual: We currently are setup to do overflow broadcasts of video from the auditorium to the cafe and creche; sound is also wired into the creche. If you require overflow into the Whanau room, please mention this with our Admin. team so that we may schedule a meeting with our AVL team to work out the best course of action to ensure your event is a resounding success. |
By removing fluorescents from all rooms except the auditorium, we have already achieved energy-savings to the tune of _____kWh in the 2017BY. |
